Music Gr. 3-4
This month, we are studying world music. Please watch this video of two Balafon players from Mali. (It’s 9 minutes long, so you can just watch part of it.) As you watch, how would you describe the music? Does the Balafon remind you of other instruments you know?
Our hymn for this month is Be Thou My Vision. Here is a video with the lyrics. Please print the music so that you can follow along (posted in the Resource Library under Music).
For our Zoom class on Tuesday, please bring your homemade instrument.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at aperlau@mtroyal.ca

PLEASE NOTE: The STUDENT ART SHOWCASE for Fall is available for viewing at the links provided below:
The slideshows feature a selection of artwork done by students between September and December. I hope that you and your child(ren) enjoy it. Schole students can be proud of their accomplishments to date. Please keep in mind that there is a wide range in age and skill level amongst students. I am confident that each student will continue to grow and progress artistically as they continue to draw regularly and learn to use new tools. Thank you for your commitment to encouraging your child at home!

This week’s focus: Predicate Review
In preparation for Schole support class:
Read p 123-125 This is a great REVIEW! Focus on the last paragraph p 124
Because we have had a break, I STRONGLY recommend going through the analysis on p 125-129AND reviewing the parts of speech songs.
To be completed this week:
Finish page 130-131, and 132-133
In class we will review review review and possibly do some of section C p 134
Finish the chapter this week. I believe doing a page or two a day is much better than one lot of all the pages.
ENRICHMENT – Extra resources for children and families who desire more
Learn a poem and share it during Morning assembly
THIS MONTH’S ASSIGNMENT FOR SUBMISSION:
Predicate review quiz before next class, before January 20 You can record the quiz on the January monthly submission guide
