    Class Name: Literature: Grade 2

    This week’s focus: China

    To be completed this week:

    *For those of you who were able to join us, we veered slightly off of the year plans and read the book The Story of Ping
    *We discussed many of the geographical landscapes of China. The Gobi Desert, The Himalayas, and the Yangtze River.
    *Students can still generate a sentence based on what they learned from the book or during our class and draw a picture in their adventure journals. Remember to date the work on top.

    ENRICHMENT – Extra resources for children and families who desire more

    Explore the urban cities of China including Shanghai, Hong Kong, Wuhan, Beijing.
    Which sports, festivals and foods are important to the Chinese culture?
    Uploaded to the Resource Library under Reading, is an activity page on Mount Everest.


    One photocopy of an adventure journal entry by Oct 31, 2020 OR a page of copywork from Writing with Ease to be submitted to Ms. Monica.

    Mozart: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik

    Do you know what “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” means? This piece was written for a string quartet. How many instruments are in a string quartet?
    Which instruments play in a string quartet?

    Can you sing it with me? What do you wish for?
    Can you clap with the words , that’s the rhythm
    Write the rhythm on the worksheet provided.
    Can you create one rhythm with popsicle sticks or pencils?

    • Optional: bring coloring page to class (work on while listening)

    • (Optional) Complete Reading/Listening to Lesson 9 (from week 3) AND Lessons 10, 11 (from week 4)
