In preparation for Schole support class:
• Begin reading MOH text ~ Lesson 12 (from week 4) AND Lessons 13, 14 (from week 5)
• Optional: Bring coloring page (see enrichment options) and/or timeline page to class (work on while listening).
• (GRADE 5 and 6): Label map 6 France using answer key (PARENTS: as needed, help your child label, names of countries should be all capital letters. (These are in your companion guide but also posted in Resource Library). Please bring map to class as reference. (This is optional for grades 3 and 4.)

(3) Complete ONE of the following options for the Lesson #3 Project (for submission by the end of October):
Option 1: Divide a drawing page into six equal sections. Use your drawing pencils to fill in each section with a different texture that you observe in or around your home. Label each texture. If you are having trouble thinking of textured things to draw, consider the following:
– A cactus or other house plant
– A wooden surface (e.g., picnic table, fence)
– A family member’s hair
– An animal (with special attention to its fur)
– A woven basket
– Smooth pebbles
– Cracked pavement
– A head of broccoli
– A bowl of Corn FlakesOption 2: Draw a subject of your choice in graphite pencil, featuring one or more textures. If you cannot think of a suitable subject, feel free to use one of the following images:

Please bring a small whiteboard or clipboard with (recycled or paper that can have a second use) on it. Bring a marker. We will be using these in class.

Part 1: Identify Phrases. Prepositions are part of phrases.Phrases are a group of words behaving like one part of speech and not containing a subject or a predicate.
Part 2: Identify Principal Elements and Modifiers. Page 62 shows all the “most important” prepositions.
