Class Name Well Ordered Language 2

This week’s focus: Chapter 4 PREDICATE VERBS AND DIRECT OBJECTS

In preparation for Schole support class:

Listen to the song VERBS AND HELPING VERBS (until you are singing it in your head…)
    Read pages 65-71
This is the week when the use of the script, rulers for straight lines, and asking the right questions of adverbs, verbs, and now direct objects comes into play.
Please make cheat sheets for this to learn it well. I will see if I can make some too.

    To be completed this week:

    Pages 72-75 BEFORE zoom* (Mon-Tuesday)
Pages 76-77 discussed IN ZOOM* (Wednesday)
    Pages 78-79 after zoom* (Thursday-Friday)

For further daily reinforcement, I’d highly suggest breaking this up into smaller units to get more days of shorter practice.

    1. Do every second question of a two page spread—including the analysis and diagramming.
The FOLLOWING week do the other questions.
    2. OR, do all the questions of the analysis of a two page spread. And then the following week, review the question and do the diagramming.

ENRICHMENT – Extra resources for children and families who desire more

PRACTISE makes all the difference! Learn the songs.
P 80-81 Lesson to Enjoy—the Poem: The Old Bridge

Quiz Predicate Verbs and Direct Objects (by November 20 (before rest week if possible)
*Depending on how the rest week and other week goes, we may have a second quiz this month.

Please contact karynbooth.tutor@gmail.com with any questions and submissions.

    by Hilaire Belloc

The vulture eats between his meals,
    And that’s the reason why
    He very, very rarely feels
As well as you or I.

His eye is dull. His head is bald,
    His neck is growing thinner,
Oh, what a lesson for us all,
    To only eat at dinner!
