    This week’s focus: Chapter 4 PREDICATE VERBS AND DIRECT OBJECTS

    In preparation for Schole support class:

    Listen to the song VERBS AND HELPING VERBS (until you are singing it in your head…)
    Read pages 65-71
    This is the week when the use of the script, rulers for straight lines, and asking the right questions of adverbs, verbs, and now direct objects comes into play.
    Please make cheat sheets for this to learn it well. I will see if I can make some too.

    To be completed this week:

    Pages 72-75 BEFORE zoom* (Mon-Tuesday)
    Pages 76-77 discussed IN ZOOM* (Wednesday)
    Pages 78-79 after zoom* (Thursday-Friday)

    For further daily reinforcement, I’d highly suggest breaking this up into smaller units to get more days of shorter practice.
    TWO OPTIONS

    1. Do every second question of a two page spread—including the analysis and diagramming.
    The FOLLOWING week do the other questions.
    2. OR, do all the questions of the analysis of a two page spread. And then the following week, review the question and do the diagramming.

    This week’s focus: WOL 3A Chapter 4
    In preparation for Schole support class: This lesson is about personal pronouns. Absolute possessive pronouns to be exact. They are mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, yours, theirs. They are different because they act as both the possessor, and the thing possessed. An absolute possessive pronoun stands apart from the noun it modifies.
    There are three pronoun cases: Subjective, Objective, and Possessive.
    A subject pronoun is doing the action in a sentence. It is what the sentence is about. “I knew.”
    An object pronoun is a ponoun that can receive the action in the sentence as a direct object. “Aslan knew you.”
    A possessive pronoun functions as an adjective “her nose” as it behaves like a possessive noun in that it shows ownership and modifies other nouns.
    Absolute possessive pronouns are used in sentences just as nouns are used – as subjects, predicate nominatives, direct objects, or objects of the preposition. So that is how you would analyze and diagram them.
    Zoom class is Nov 4 from 11:30-12
    To be completed this week: Complete the above reading and Lesson to Learn A on pages 94-95, B 96-97, C 98-99.
