In preparation for Schole support class:

    Read through pages 52-56

IF your student misses details, perhaps read it again, or do this activity with other students in your home during a gathering time.

Work on the outline on page57. Start with * at the main points in the story, then underline key ideas between each stars . Don’t write the outline today

Skip the writing till tomorrow and work some questions from pages 58-62

To be completed this week: (this is a suggested schedule< feel free to use your own)

Review your * from yesterday, do you still see them as the main parts of the story?
How about the supporting ideas your underlined?
Now, if you are satisfied, write your outline.

Watch prerecorded class. This class will focus on This class will focus on page 63-65 and discussing story hooks and the assignment

    Consider the following:
Planning—do some brainstorming—consider that this is ONLY The beginning…do NOT WRITE the MIDDLE OR END
Brainstorm some ideas that cause you to need to use a thesaurus. (find some juicy words)
Your hook does not have to be very long, several sentences will suffice.
Make it so the reader is really curious to keep reading.
Check your spelling, punctuation, and capitalization.
Before submitting to me, wait a day, re read it aloud EXACTLY as it is written. Listen for anything that needs revising. (eg incomplete or run on sentences, missing punctuation)
Present your work neatly, handwriting is welcome.
