Literature 1
Hello Parents and students!
Welcome to a new schole year and the LITERATURE 1 class. I am thrilled to come along on this journey with you and learn more about the rich world of books! This class might be more play than work for me….I just love love love reading and know the intent of this class is to encourage joy and thanksgiving for books/story.
I am a schole parent of Sophie MG, Madelyn in LG2, Joshua 5 years, and Ethan 2.5 years. My life is full of blessings!
My husband is a Kiwi, from New Zealand, so we often love learning about the amazing world of the “land of the long white cloud”.
I am a teacher by trade, mostly in grades 6-9, Language Arts and Social Studies. I love words, gardening, writing and learning.
THis is my first time tutoring this class, so I am learning ahead of you (I hope!) Please feel free to email me and share any particulars that will make this class really awesome for us all.
I sure hope I see you at the picnic on Monday…I have something for you and I hope to meet you in person and share a little treat with you.
I am thankful for this model of education, it feels like such a good groove of challenge and rest!
Thanks for reading my longest weekly update of the year!
Ms Karyn

This week’s focus: Starting well…
In preparation for Schole support class:Please review the year plan. Hopefully you were able to come to the schole picnic and receive the goodies I have for you…we will begin commonplace journals this week.

To be completed this week: Begin the first module of The GRAMMAR of POETRY. IF you pace it a lesson/week, you will complete all modules through the year without too much stress.
In particular I am most interested in you writing an autobiographical poem. I will include mine in the picnic package and post it in RESOURCES.If you click Literature in Resources, type Autobiographical poem in the search bar, the file comes up.

I am asking you to write these because it is more challenging for me to get to know you by zoom…and I am interested in what you are about. Please consider sharing with me via email karynbooth.tutor@gmail.com

ENRICHMENT – Extra resources for children and families who desire more
