This week’s focus: Chapter 5 ~ Adjectives
For Parent:
• RECOMMENDED overview video for chapter 5:
• REMEMBER: when analyzing sentence, capital letters are used above the line to indicate Principal Elements, lower case letters are used below the line to indicate Subordinate Elements (modifiers).
• ENCOURAGE neat and petite!
In preparation for Schole support class:
• Introduction: pages 99 to 108 (work closely with your child to ensure understanding and the practice of choral analysis).
Terms to Remember through song/chant – Nouns (1-5), Verbs and Helping Verbs (1-6), Adverbs (1-7), NEW Adjectives (1-8)
• During Wednesday’s Zoom class we will work through Part A
BRING TO CLASS: WOL workbook and pencil / small whiteboard and marker OR a clipboard with paper and marker.
To be completed this week:
• Complete Lesson 5 – A (we will work through this orally/on white board during Schole lesson), B and C.

Ate too much cake,
He isn’t himself today:
He’s tucked up in bed
With a feverish head,
And he doesn’t much care to play.

And three kinds of ice cream too-
From his latest reports
He’s quite out of sorts,
And I’m sure the reports are true.

I’m sorry to state
That he also ate
Six pickles, a pie, and a pear;
In fact I confess
It’s a reasonable guess
He ate practically everything there.

Yes, Jonathan Blake
Ate too much cake,
So he’s not at his best today;
But there’s no need for sorrow-
If you come back tomorrow,
I’m sure he’ll be out to play.
