This week’s focus: The Scarlet Pimpernel
In preparation for class this coming Thursday February 25, 2021:
1. Please email me ahead of class this week if you experimented with an Ode, Elegy or Pastoral poem and would like to share it in class.
2. From Chapter 12- Emily Dickinson: A Case Study in Form from Art of Poetry. Choose one poem by Dickinson and try to memorize it. See Question #2 – from Page 166.
3. The Scarlet Pimpernel – Read Chapters 9-17 this week. Attached you will find a few questions we will be discussing in class. Continue to add any evidence of the themes to this page that you began last week.

*Create a visual Timeline of the French Revolution to share in class
*Explore through research the Three Estates in pre-revolutionary France – First Estate -Clergy,Second Estate – Nobility, Third Estate – Bourgeoisie (middle class), also Third Estate – Peasant
